Pictures from Alan Stokes

These from some negatives which came from Alan's grandfather

"The 'master' picture shows an Emitron camera covering sailing. I can recognise the place as on the River Thames between Kingston upon Thames and Teddington. It is on the opposite bank but very near to the Ariel Sailing Club premises. I'm guessing that it is the Kingston Regatta."

"The camera is an Emitron. Where is the cameraman? Maybe they have yet to go on air."
"The picture monitor alongside. Maybe this was the commentary position?"

"The date? Others may be able to guess better than me. I do have some 9.5mm cine film which has a very similar shot in it. That was taken by my father and is on a roll of material shot in 1949. I know this because there are pictures of me being taken from hospital in my mother's arms. So, would 1949 seem right for the Emitrons still to be in service?"

...and from Les Thorn
"Here is a photo I have been looking for, for ages. Unfortunately it wasn't in some lost file or album, but on a shelf in the loft, so is not in the best condition. The cameras, particularly the Angenieux zooms seem to be the main feature, but the other protagonists, are myself on creeper with Dave Skerry tracking, it could be Steve Rogers on the boom and possibly Spence Payne on the ped."

...and from Roger Bunce
Roger with trusty(?) Link 110 and HP Ped on the set of “Enchanted Castle” by E. E. Nesbit (1979) directed by Dorothea Brooking (in the days before they banned open-toed sandals).
"When I was an infant, one of the first programmes I ever saw on tele was the 1952 serial of “The Railway Children” by E. E. Nesbit, also directed by Dorothea Brooking. Here, 27 years later, I was working on a serial by the same author with the same director."

“Pets Win Prizes” in 1995 (or 96). There are too many familiar faces to name them all
