Peter Neill on PA

Peter says - "Herewith picture of me operating PA Desk at TVT for Val Doonican Show circa 1971. Photo taken by Ron Howard (Harry Goodwin's sidekick).

I met Harry last year when he came to Elstree with some TOTP photos. They were doing "Top of the Pops - The True Story" and had interviews with Johnnie Stewart, Stan Dorfman, Bill Cotton, Jim Moir, Johnnie Pearson etc etc. It was great to meet them all again.

Sadly, Johnnie Stewart who created Top Of The Pops, died on 29th April 2005, aged 87. He joined the BBC in the late 1930s as a sound effects technician.

I can find several obits from tv nostalgia sites - but none on the BBC site!!??"
