From Louis Barfe (and Dave Buckley and Hugh Sheppard further down)

The Queen has visited the BBC a good few times. This is from when she went to see an edition of The Good Life...

Dave Buckley says " after the visit, our studio handy man (Charlie Lavery) from TV Training was walking round the ring road
and spotted six very plush office chairs outside a studio. Making enquiries, he found out that they were
the chairs used by the Royal Party when they were in the audience for The Good Life and that they weren't
needed anymore. Always on the lookout for something for nothing, Charlie asked if TVT could have them and
was told to take them away. The end result was that the chairs were used for many years in the Woodstock Studio
and later at Elstree Centre. I will say that they were very hard wearing chairs (more so considering the amount
of moving around they endured in the TVT studios) and were still in use at TVT when I took early retirement in 1993.

On a rather different note, Hugh Sheppard sent this picture of the late ballet producer Maggie Dale.
Hugh says -"the missing 'bucket-swinger' for the mole crane in this photo of TC4 in 1961 was probably me, with Mark Lewis as the senior cameraman of crew 6"
