From John Hulse

First, here's some vintage radio -
John says "this is an article I found in ‘The Modern Boy’s Book of Engineering’ published some time in the mid 30s."

Goodbye to Oxford Road Studios

John says - "Sunday 30th April 2006 saw the very last network programme be transmitted from New Broadcasting House, Oxford Road Manchester. After the BBC shut network production down in 2001, the shoe box studio specially created for ‘The Heaven & Earth Show’ remained operational for a while but owned and maintained by 3sixtymedia.

Attached are a few pictures from that last day. The studio is now largely dismantled. By the way, the cameraman in the top left picture is Dave Fox, whose father Bernard Fox used to be a TM at TV Centre."

John didn't get the easist ride when applying to the BBC, having picked one of those moments when the place was full up.....fortunately they let him in, in the end.
