From Dave Buckley

Dave says - "A couple of items from a TOTP rehearsal, recorded in 1975, with talkback. The recording was made for Producer's Assistants training, and there was prog sound but stereo VHS machines weren't available when I did the transfer all those years ago.
The items are - Hold me Close, where the FMs and Noel Edmunds 'sat in' for David Essex, and Island Girl with Pan's People with remarkable bar counting."

I - Bernie - listened several times to this, thinking that the PA's voice isn't Libby, so who is it? Then I realised that it's Trish Hanrahan, later to become a long-time colleague of mine in Presentation. I sent a copy of this to Trish. She says that Island Girl was the most difficult piece of bar counting she ever did.

The director is of course Stan Appel, and the two stand-ins are Geoff Walmsley and Barrie Martin, assisted by Noel Edmonds.

You'll need to press the play button, because there's more video below.....

Long after this page was first made, Stan saw it, and sent me this picture
of an acetate single, which all he had of the recording for 30 or so years

More video. It's only 5 years since this site started, and at that time with our 56k modems even one piece of video wouldn't have been possible, but now here's two on one page.

This is a compilation that Mike has put together, mostly of the opening titles of Late Night Line Up, which pans lovingly across the controls of Pres B at Television Centre, back in its original black and white early '60s layout.
The first shot features John Howard Davies on the right. I need help with the other names.....
