A page from Derek Brady

Derek says "I joined Tech ops of the BBC in January 1956. Cameraman at Lime Grove, Alexandra Palace (News) and then Manchester Studios and OB's. Then I doubled my BBC salary on joining Tyne Tees Television in 1959 as a cameraman. I returned to London in 1967 as head of cameras in the ILEA Television service. I was an early member of the Guild of Television Cameramen and served on the council in the early 70's. I retired on the demise of the ILEA in 1990. I am still a member of the Guild."

Here's Derek on the set of the original Tonight progamme in Lime Grove Studio H sometime in the late 1950s.   brady_emitron_small (21K)
